Harvesting Season
Out in the fields, the rice is almost ready for the harvest. You can see the young grains standing tall, getting themselves ready to finally ripen. But for now, they are still waiting; they still lack that last bit of energy they need to be complete.
To help them, the leaves begin to fall from the trees, fluttering down to settle upon the earth. They nurture the ground so the young grains can absorb every bit of goodness from the soil. Even the seaweed provides its gift, bringing water to keep the earth rich and damp, while the pollen drifts through the air to visit the grains and help them along.
It is a quiet time of preparation, where everything in nature works together. And in the end, once the energy is full and the grains are ready, Nnokee can happily step into the fields to begin the harvest.
